Stephen F. Roth specializes in litigation and has served as lead counsel on numerous cases, both bench and jury. Mr. Roth's approach to litigation centers on client's business goals. Mr. Roth never loses sight of the client's ultimate goal of resolving disputes in a swift and efficient fashion. Mr. Roth understands the expense and disruption that litigation often entails, and attempts to come to a resolution with the least disruption to the client's business. In the rare cases where a reasonable settlement cannot be found, Mr. Roth is an effective trial attorney and uses his training and background to develop a successful rapport with the judge and jury.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Roth conducted psychological research on human perception. Mr. Roth employs that background in understanding both the human factor dynamics in jury decisions, and the presentation of complex evidence often required in federal litigation.

Mr. Roth is actively involved in the training of the firm's litigation associates and is the Director of the John C. Lifland American Inn of Court, one of the first Inns of Court in the country specializing in intellectual property law. He also lectures frequently on litigation and intellectual property issues.

In 2013, Mr. Roth was honored with the "Lawyer of the Year" for Patent Litigation in the Newark Metropolitan Area.  In 2013, Chambers promoted Mr. Roth to a Band 1 attorney in intellectual property law, recognizing his "effusive praise from sources." Chambers identified Mr. Roth as "an expert IP litigator who impresses with his strategic mindset, and his advice is seen by sources as 'on the money.'" Mr. Roth is one out of only four intellectual property attorneys in New Jersey elected to Band 1, the other three being his partners, Joe Littenberg, Bill Mentlik and Bruce Sales.
