Aaron Eckenthal is an associate in the firm. His practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property law with a particular concentration in litigation.
Mr. Eckenthal attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he received B.S. degrees in Genetics and Bacteriology. He participated in studies to understand the molecular basis of the aging process through gene expression profiling using "DNA-chips" and generation of transgenic and "knock-out" mice. He also participated in studies to understand the mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology of chronic pain in order to develop mechanistically-based analgesic treatments to prevent or abolish chronic pain and minimize or eliminate patient suffering.
Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Eckenthal has participated in complex patent litigation cases involving a variety of technologies, including cellular phone, vocoders, video codecs, VOIP, airplane seats, video games and affiliate marketing. Mr. Eckenthal has also represents clients involved in trademark disputes (both litigation and opposition proceedings) and Uniform Domain Name Resolution Policy (UDRP) disputes.
Mr. Eckenthal is also part of the firm's trademark procurement practice. He has experience with trademark clearance opinions, registering trademarks and opposition proceedings.
When counseling clients, Mr. Eckenthal always attempts to focus on the client’s goals from a business perspective. Using this strategy, Mr. Eckenthal has successfully helped many clients achieve comprehensive and positive outcomes to their intellectual property matters.
